The Higher Education Authority (HEA) Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Spotlight Series, in collaboration with higher education institutions across the Island of Ireland, showcases innovative and inspiring ESD initiatives taking place in the sector.
This series celebrates the vital role of higher education institutions in embedding ESD and responding to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through curricula, research, and campus practices, addressing key global challenges and driving transformative action that benefits students, academic communities and society at large.
On March 7th, University College Cork was featured in this series. Dr John Barimo, manager of SDSN Ireland, delivered the section about UCC’s regarded SDG Toolkit from its development to its implementation both within UCC and beyond. The SDG4U project was also acknowledged as another version of the module mapping tool with its project partners in Greece, Spain, Ireland and the UNIMED network.
